Settings overview

What each group in Settings does, and which settings to look at first.

Settings is where you decide how your business runs in Bakasir. It has eleven groups, and every change is applied and saved as soon as you make it. This page tells you what lives where, so you can find a setting fast.

Who can change settings

Owners can change everything. Managers can open Settings but only view it. Cashiers do not see Settings at all.

Where to start

The eleven groups

Business

Your identity and your locations. Set the Business Name, Legal Name, contact details, Tax Registration No / NPWP and Business Address, which print on receipts and invoices. Here you also manage:

  • Store URL: the web address of your online store. Changing it breaks any link you already shared.
  • Outlets: add outlets with Add Outlet. Each outlet is billed as one store and has its own stock, registers and staff access.
  • Terminals: the cashier terminals of each outlet. You pair a Desktop or Android device here with a pairing code, set operator PINs, and lock, message or unpair a device. The switch Allow Owner to operate the cashier? decides whether the Owner can sell on the cashier apps.
  • Opening & Closing Hours: the daily schedule of an outlet, with reminders, a grace period and automatic closing of registers.

System

Formats and rules that apply to the whole business. Timezone, Date Format, Number Format, Default Language, Default Currency, Currency Format and Rounding Mode decide how dates, numbers and money appear everywhere. Tax sets whether you collect tax, its name, rate and mode (Inclusive or Exclusive). Costing Method chooses Moving Average, FIFO or Batch-Specific, and applies only to future movements. Period Lock Date locks financial documents up to a date. Import Demo Data loads sample data for testing.

Security

Enforce 2FA for staff requires two-factor authentication for every user. You can send yourself a password reset link, add Passkeys to sign in with a fingerprint or face, and see the devices signed in to your account in Login Device Management, where you can Revoke them.

Branding & White Label

Make Bakasir look like your business: Default Theme (System, Light or Dark), Brand Color, Density, Reduced motion, and your Logo Light, Logo Dark, Logo Mini and Icon. A live preview shows the result.

Receipt & Invoice

POS Paper Size (56, 76 or 80 mm), Receipt Design, Document Numbering prefixes for receipts, invoices, adjustments, transfers, stock counts, purchases and expenses, and Set Receipt Display to choose what prints in the header, body and footer. A second section sets the paper size and design of printed invoices: A4, Letter, Legal or Folio/F4.

POS

How the register behaves.

  • Where will you run the cashier? Web POS, Desktop app, Android app, or several.
  • Register: Default Opening Balance, Default Payment, Open cash drawer on cash payment and Allow overselling.
  • Security: a POS PIN of 4 to 12 digits, and how long Keep POS unlocked lasts (30 to 480 minutes).
  • Offline: POS Offline Transaction saves sales on the device during an outage and syncs them later. See Help and troubleshooting.
  • Experience: grid or list items, cursor-position scanner, on-screen keyboard, split bill, dine-in / take away, table management, Default POS Style and Scan Sound.
  • Customer display: slideshow images and a thank-you message for a second screen.

When Web POS is not selected, the options that only apply to the browser cashier are disabled.

Notifications

For each of Low stock alerts, Daily report, Weekly report, Monthly report, Annual report and System notifications, choose None, In-App or Email. Enable push notifications sends browser alerts even when the tab is closed. A second block controls Bakasir platform alerts and marketing updates.

Backup & Restore

Run backup creates a copy of your business data to the cloud or as a download. Backup History lists the cloud backups, and Restore replaces your business data with one of them. Reset Operations has Reset Demo Data, Reset all sales and Factory reset.

Destructive actions

Restore and the reset actions ask you to type your business name, ask for your two-factor code if you have 2FA, and can be undone for 60 seconds. Think twice, and make a backup first.

Plan & Billing

Your current plan, its status (Active, Trial, Past due), the days left in the period, the Billing cycle, the Next payment and your Billing history with printable invoices. Use Upgrade plan, Cancel plan or Manage payment to reach the Bakasir team.

Integrations

Connect your own services: SMTP / Email to send mail from your own mail server (use Send Test to check it), Twilio, Google Analytics for your online store, and the payment providers Midtrans, Xendit and Stripe. Use Test Connection to check your keys. Keys are never shown again once saved.

Privacy

Download all my data gives you a complete copy of your business data. The Danger Zone has Delete all my data, which keeps the account, and Erase my account, which removes everything. Both are permanent.

Tips

  • Look for the Saved message. If saving fails, Bakasir restores the previous value and tells you.
  • Test after a change. After changing tax, receipt or formats, make a test sale. See Your first sale.
  • Pair devices in Business. Desktop and Android devices are paired from the Terminals area. See Install and activate the Desktop app.
