Settings
Change the look, language, sounds, kiosk mode and startup of the Desktop app, check the connection, and remove the device.
Open Settings from the Home screen to change how the app looks and behaves on this computer. These settings belong to the computer, not to your business. Business wide settings such as receipts, taxes and formats are in the Portal.
Display
- Theme: Light, Dark or Follow Windows.
- Window material: Mica (a subtle tint of your wallpaper behind the glass, light on power), Acrylic (frosted glass) or Solid (no transparency, highest contrast).
- Display size: 100%, 110%, 125% or 150%. Pick a bigger size for a small or distant screen.
- Language: Bahasa Indonesia or English. The app reloads in the new language.
- Touch mode: bigger buttons for touch screens.
- Animations: turn off on slower checkout computers.
Your business can also set a default theme, accent colour, logo and date, number and currency formats in the Portal. Formats from Settings → System win over the local choice, so every screen and receipt looks the same.
Sounds
Three switches control short sounds, all on by default:
- Item added sound when a product is scanned or added.
- Item removed sound when an item is reduced or removed, or the cart is voided.
- Notification and payment sounds for successful payments, errors and new notifications.
Store icon
If your business has an icon in the Portal under Settings → Branding, Use the store icon replaces the Bakasir icon in the window, taskbar, tray and shortcuts.
Terminal
- Kiosk mode: full screen, always on top, and the window cannot be closed. Only an Owner or Manager can change it. Others see a note to sign in as one.
- Start with Windows: Bakasir opens by itself after Windows sign in. Only an Owner or Manager can change it.
- Unlock with Windows Hello: allows fingerprint, face or Windows PIN to unlock the screen in the same shift. It needs Windows Hello to be set up on the computer, otherwise Settings says so.
In kiosk mode the Exit app option is hidden. To leave kiosk mode, an Owner or Manager switches it off here or from the Portal.
Notifications
- Notification count shows the number of unread notifications.
- Notification content shows the text in Windows notifications.
This device
This card shows the Terminal, Outlet, Business, Server and Version. Click Test connection to check the link to Bakasir. It answers Connected to Bakasir or Connection failed. Show the introduction again replays the welcome slides.
Remove the device
An Owner or Manager can press and hold Hold to remove under Remove device. The computer stops being a checkout terminal. Sales that were already sent stay safe on the server. To use it again, pair it again, see Install and activate.
Closing the app
Clicking the X in the window corner hides Bakasir to the system tray and it keeps running. Click the tray icon to open it again. The tray menu also has Lock screen and Quit. To quit fully, open your name at the top right and choose Exit app. If the register is still open or you are still clocked in, Bakasir tells you first.
Manage the computer from the Portal
In the Portal under Settings → Business, a terminal's Paired devices list shows each computer with Online or Offline, the app version, the waiting sales, the printer status and who is signed in. From there an Owner or Manager can send Lock, Send message, Turn on kiosk or Turn off kiosk, and Unpair. Lock, message and kiosk need the computer to be online. A message appears on the Desktop screen and as a Windows notification.
