Sign in as a cashier

Pick your name, type your PIN, and lock the terminal when you step away.

Android: sign in as a cashier

On a paired terminal, every cashier signs in with a personal PIN so each sale and cash session carries the right name. This tutorial shows the daily sign in and how to lock the terminal. It takes about 2 minutes.

Before you start

  • The device is paired to a terminal. See Install and pair.
  • Your Owner or Manager set your operator PIN (6 to 12 digits) in the Portal under Staff → Staff List. It is not the same as the approval PIN used for discounts.
  • The device is online. Signing in needs a connection to Bakasir.

Steps

Find your name

The Sign in to the register screen shows a large clock and a row of avatars, one for each person who can use this terminal. Swipe the row to find yourself.

Select your name

Tap your avatar. The first person in the row is selected at the start, so check that it is you.

Type your PIN

Use the number pad. A PIN has 6 to 12 digits. Enter your PIN is the hint under the title.

Wait for the PIN to be checked

You do not tap anything else. The PIN is checked by itself once it has the same length as your last successful PIN, or after a short pause when you have typed 6 or more digits. The screen says Your PIN is checked automatically.

Start your shift

The Home screen opens with a greeting, the register and the menu. Next you can open the register and clock in.

If the PIN is wrong

The pad shakes and a message appears: The details or PIN do not match. Try again. After too many wrong attempts for one person, the message is Too many attempts. Wait a few minutes and try again. Ask your Manager to set a new PIN in the Portal if you forgot it.

If the screen says No operator with a PIN can use this terminal. Set a PIN in the Portal, no staff member has a PIN yet.

Lock the terminal

Tap your name at the top right of the Home screen and choose Lock. This signs you out of the terminal and returns to the PIN screen, so the next cashier picks their own name. If the session ends by itself, the app also returns to this screen.

Device settings

On the sign in screen, tap the sliders button at the top right, or choose Device settings from your name menu. It shows the Terminal, Outlet, Business and Device ID. An Owner or Manager who is signed in can press and hold Hold to unpair this device. Everyone else sees Sign in as Owner or Manager to unpair this device.

Tips

  • Connection chip. The top right shows Connected or Offline. If it says Offline, check the internet before signing in.
  • Shared device. Lock the terminal whenever you walk away. Every sale is recorded under whoever is signed in.
