# Create your account

> Sign up, set up your business with a few questions and verify your email.

In this tutorial you create your Bakasir account and your business in one short form. It takes about 5 minutes, and you do not need to pay anything to sign up.

## Before you start

- Use an email address you can open. Bakasir sends a verification link to it.
- Have your business name and address ready.
- Optional: your logo (JPG, PNG or WEBP, up to 2 MB) and your tax registration number (NPWP).

## Steps




### Open the sign-up page

Go to the Bakasir website and start the sign-up, or click **Create an account** on the Business Portal login page. The form shows your progress on the left.




### Enter your business details

Fill in **Business Name**, which is the only required field here. You can also add **Business Phone**, **Country**, **Region**, **City**, **Address**, **Registration No / NPWP** and your **Business Logo**. Click **Next**.




### Choose your business type

Pick the category that fits you best: Retail / Grocery, Coffee Shop, Restaurant / F&B, Barbershop, Salon, SPA, Supermarket, Wholesaler, Industry or Pharmacy. This sets the cashier layout you start with. You can switch the layout later.




### Choose where you will sell

Pick every place where you ring up sales: **Web POS** (in the browser), **Desktop app (Windows)** or **Android app**. You need at least one. You can change this later in **Settings → POS**.




### Pick a plan

Choose **Monthly** or **Annual** billing, then select a plan. A plan with a free trial starts right away. For other plans, the first invoice waits for you in the Business Portal. This step appears only when plans are available.




### Create your owner account

Enter **Your Name**, **Your Email**, **Your Phone** and a **Password**, then repeat it in **Confirm Password**. You can also click **Continue with Google** instead of typing a password. A profile picture is optional.




### Review and create your business

Check the summary on the left. Use **Edit** to correct anything, then click **Create my Business**. Wait a few seconds while Bakasir prepares your store, your cashier and your stock.




### Open your dashboard

When you see **You're all set!**, click **Go to Dashboard**. You are signed in as the Owner of the new business.




### Verify your email

Open the email from Bakasir and click its link. If you cannot find it, click **Resend verification email** in the banner at the top of the Dashboard.




## Password rules

A password needs at least 8 characters. By default it must also include an uppercase letter, a lowercase letter, a number and a symbol. The form tells you which rule applies to your account.

## What happens if you do not verify your email

    Until your plan trial ends, you can use everything, and a banner reminds you to verify. If the trial ends and the email is still unverified, the whole business turns read-only: you can open and read every page, but saving, selling and editing are blocked until the Owner verifies the email. Cashiers on the Desktop and Android apps are blocked in the same way. A plan without a trial gives you 7 days.

## First visit to the Dashboard

The first time you open the Dashboard, Bakasir may ask **Where will you run the cashier?** if you skipped it, and shows a short **Quick guide** of the main menus. You can leave the guide with **Skip** or the Esc key, and open it again later from your user menu, under **Quick guide**.

## Tips

- **Forgot your password?** Use **Forgot password** on the login page to get a reset link by email.
- **Faster login.** You can sign in with Google, or with a passkey you add later in **Settings → Security**.
- **Staff do not sign up.** The Owner adds them in the Business Portal. See [Manage your team](https://docs.bakasir.com/en/docs/portal/team.md).
