# Android app

> The Bakasir cashier app for Android phones and tablets, and the Owner phone for following your business.

The Bakasir Android app turns a phone or tablet into a cashier terminal, or gives you a view of your whole business on your own phone. It uses the same business data as the Portal and the Desktop app, so sales, shifts and receipts line up everywhere.

## Two ways to use the app

When you open the app for the first time, you choose how this device is used.

- **Cashier terminal.** A shared phone or tablet at the counter. It is paired to one terminal, and every cashier signs in with their own PIN. This is where you sell, run the register and print receipts.
- **Owner personal phone.** Your own phone. You sign in with your Bakasir account and follow sales, outlets, low stock and open cashiers. It needs a plan that includes the mobile business app.

## What you can do

- **Sell** with five layouts that follow your business type: General, Coffee, Restaurant, Supermarket and Pharmacy.
- **Keep selling offline.** Sales are stored on the device and sent when the connection returns.
- **Run the shift:** clock in, open the register, count the drawer and close it.
- **Print receipts** on a Bluetooth or USB receipt printer, open the cash drawer, scan with the camera or a barcode scanner, and show the cart on a second screen.
- **Approve requests** from other cashiers, and read business reports if you are an Owner or Manager.

## Before you install

- An Android phone or tablet with **Android 10 or newer**.
- An internet connection for pairing and signing in. After you sign in, selling continues if the connection drops.
- A terminal in the Business Portal and a personal PIN for every cashier. See [Install and pair](https://docs.bakasir.com/en/docs/android/install-and-pair.md).

## Get the app

In the Business Portal, click **Open POS**. When Web POS is not one of your cashier channels, the **Open your cashier** window shows a QR code, **Download APK** and **Open Google Play** buttons, and the current version. Scan the QR code with the phone to install. If the download has not been published yet, the window says so.

    If Web POS is selected in **Settings → POS**, **Open POS** goes straight to the
    web cashier and does not show the download window. Contact [Bakasir
